We were slated to stay the week of Thanksgiving (2017) to visit family. We are foster parents and have six children currently so it was two adults and six children, two are infants. Our mother-in-law went to the hotel three times to confirm reservation and ask for adjoining rooms. We were arriving late and called ahead asking for a crib in each room. When we arrived after 11 pm there was only one employee working, there were no connecting rooms even though there were literally 3 cars in the parking area. She said there were no notes. Then she said she could not open the door to get the cribs. She basically said she was working 16 hour days and things are bad. She tried to put us in two king suites but we can’t sleep four people in a bed and without a crib our 1 and 5 month old had no place to sleep. We switched to two regular rooms with double beds, we had to improvise a bed for the babies. She assured us we could move to an adjoining room tomorrow and get the cribs. The next day we stopped at the front desk and the woman was literally leaned over the counter chewing on a straw and told us she didn’t know why we couldn’t get a crib. She mad no efforts to help us nor apologized for the ordeal. We were so frustrated we went to the Holiday Inn Express and they were very helpful and inviting! When we moved our stuff we asked to speak to the general manager, he stated he had not been there long and he wasn’t sure why we didn’t get a crib. Again not apologetic....we were far from 100% happy! Then they had the nerve to charge us.
Hotel charged my card, AND used my HH points. Loud, obnoxious, belligerent, drunk guests were there for a wedding reception. They were causing quite a stir. Upgraded room is the only good thing about this experience. STILL FIGHTING FOR MY REFUND!
The room was very nice, spacious and clean with a fan and high ceilings. The food was good and not that artificial stuff. Jamie, the manager, was warm and welcoming and helpful in every way and helped us pick a great restaurant. Couldn't ask for more, so five stars.
Located in New Iberia, this hotel has by far been my best lodging experience hands down. The rooms as well as the staff and service are impeccable. The breakfast is other worldly. I'll revisit any time my travels permit. I recommend you try it also.
The staff was so nice and helpful! The rooms were super clean! We stayed for 4 days when visiting family in the area. We will definitely stay here again! And the continental breakfast was very good, so much to choose from!
