I am glad that we only spent one night there because the experience was horrible.
The staff was sweet, But as for the building.. not so much. When you enter the check in room the whole building smells like mildew and smoke. Our room was not any better. The sheets had burns all over them. The A.C. was not working right. The room stunk so bad I didnt want to stay.. Not recommended for someone with children. Later in the evening we came back to the room and you could smell the strong order of someone smoking pot. Not to mention a couple was arguing in the next room..
Once a year for 5 years. Clean, comfy & friendly always. Hot breakfast up my alley.
I reported my findings to the front desk and all I was offered was a refrigerator, somewhere within the hotel to store my food but I politely declined. I was also told that they would inform the manager of my concerns.
Me and my familiy first time visiting New Iberia and this hotel made my experience a memorable one. For starters we drove in from Houston arrived to the hotel, get into our room to put up away food that we bought while on the road. To no avail open up the refrigerator to mold starring me in the face. That grossed us out so we ended up throwing our food away. The tub was nasty and the wall next to the table in the room had food splatter on it.
Very clean, Cozy and great service. Food was alright, nothing fancy. Very quiet and safe environment. $80 per night for 1 suite and king size bed with couch, desk and bath/shower, 2 sinks is not bad at all. The second sink has a stove bell/light for if you carry around a portable stove. Also has microwave and Medium size fridge! Awesome place.
The service and waitstaff were very professional and polite, we were always greeted with a smile. Anything we needed extra towels or more soap was readily available. The room was very clean and there was no sign of bed bugs at all. Trust me I am a very thorough inspector. The morning breakfast could've had more of a variety in the cereal, but everything was great. My only other problem was that there was no elevator, the stairs are a little hard when you have a bad foot. Given the hotel's size it is completely understandable that there is no elevator, so I do not have a complaint on that. I just wish they had one. They had a lot of guests other than my party and there were no problems with noise at all. They do have a pool but I can not review this area because I did not use it.
The next morning at check out the young lady informed me that the manager was willing to offer me at 10% discount off of my room (which came to about $6) because it was brought to his attention that I was offered another room and supposedly I declined (I was never offered another room).
