I took my son there over a month ago. He was 19 months at the time. When they called us back they told my husband he couldn't come with us (that didn't set well with me). Then when we get to our area I advised the tech that he may be a little difficult. She doesn't say anything to me but instead gets another tech to see us (this also didn't set well with me considering it's a "pediatric" office that should be used to 'difficult' toddlers). Next the tech asks me why I'm there and I tell her I'm concerned about his lip tie, to which her response is "what's that"? Are you kidding me??? By this point I'm ready to walk out. The next step was the tech brushed his teeth, then placed the toothbrush in a baggy and gave it to me - but didn't rinse it off! She then informs me that he needs work done (which I knew) and tells me they will have to put him to sleep and then put caps on. I immediately began questioning their reasoning for this. It wasn't until then that the dentist came in and said that's just what they have to do to fix his teeth. Mind you not once did she examine his teeth, and her tech only brushed them. - I was told they would send the info to insurance and then call me with a date for the procedure. In addition I had to take him to his pediatrician for a wellness exam to ensure he was healthy enough to be put under and he had to have blood drawn TWICE. I then received a phone call asking me to take pictures of his teeth for them to send to the insurance company. - None of this set well with me. I decided to get a second opinion. I went to a different dentist last week, and today he had the dental work done, in office - no caps and wasn't put under. They allowed me and my mom to be in the room with him to assist in comforting him. During my first visit with the other dentist, they already told me what insurance would cover. Meanwhile, I've still not heard back from giggles and grins! What a joke!!!
